Chumoukedima, Nagaland, June 21 (HBTV): The district administration of Peren has asked power officials to ‘strategize man power mobilization’ to clear jungles and vegetations off transmission and distribution lines in the district.    

According to updates from the government publicity agency Information and Public Relations (IPR), the move was in accordance with a decision that was taken during the District Planning and Development Board conducted on June 14. Further, the IPR stated the move was based on a request by the Power department.

The deputy commissioner of Peren, Vineet Kumar, has directed the sub-divisional, Power department, and circle administrative officials to convene a meeting with village council members in their respective jurisdiction. The meeting must be with officials of the Power department to ‘strategize man power mobilization’ to clear jungles and vegetation off all transmission and distribution lines in the district, the IPR stated. 

The deputy commissioner also stated that the period from May to October has been declared ‘vegetation clearance’ months by the department of Power. The Power department is urged to mobilize and plan clearance of jungles on time and to properly clear overhead power lines of hindrances for safety, the IPR stated.
